Of all the problems posed by the elements, water is the biggest culprit. Poor functioning gutters are actually more of a problem than no gutters at all. If water is not properly directed away from you home, it will invariably be directed at your home. Gutters can make a substantial difference in protecting eaves, fascia and siding. In addition, most basements are not waterproof compartments. If ground water builds up too high next to your basement, eventually it will find a way in. Proper gutters direct all of that rainwater away from the ground next to your basement and out into harmless territory. That is why new seamless gutters are worth the expense. Besides, you might be surprised by how affordable they are. Seamless gutters can be created and installed on your home usually in one day.
Our gutters are made on the job site using a special machine that makes gutters out of flat coil stock. The only other option is to purchase pre manufactured gutters that come in fixed lengths. The fixed lengths never match the dimensions of the house, which means that joints, or seams, have to be made to allow the gutters to fit the house. These joints are weak spots that can leak. Our gutters are made to fit the dimensions of your house without seams. Seamless gutters won't leak at seams because there are none; sections join only at inside and outside corners and at downspout outlets.
Aluminum is strong and affordable. Decades ago, gutters were usually made out of galvanized steel. It was important to grade the gutters so there was no standing water to create corrosion. Today, with aluminum gutters that do not corrode, some standing water is not a problem. Many houses have irregular roof edges and edges that are not level. We will adjust the slope of the gutters to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible following the existing edge of the roof, whether it is level or not. This may result in some standing water, which is not a problem. Gutter aluminum comes in a variety of colors to match your house and trim.
The appearance of your home is important. How gutters are installed depends on the construction of your house. We use "Gorilla hidden hangers" to fasten the gutters to your home. The hangers are hidden from view on the outside, giving your home that clean, seamless look. Plus, they're stronger than the traditional "spike and ferrule" method. Spikes and ferrules loosen up over time with the expansion and contraction of the gutters, allowing the gutters to fall off the house. We use a teflon coated screw for hidden hanger installation.
